I'm very pleased with myself as I had sufficient willpower to do a long enough run today so that if I do my basic run tomorrow I've got my 4 times and 50 kms in for the week. Ran on the new cycle path to Dunaalmás which was 10.76 kms to the bottom of the hill and then ran back on the green path to Szomod but with a slight variation due to the blocked path just before the village, but in actual fact it was better as it was a bit more off-road. The off-road part was a bit more than 6 kms. I also checked, out of curiousity, the distance from the Szomod signpost to home which meant farting around at one point as the way is now a little bit shorter due to the new cycle path. Anyway it was 2.3 kms. The bad news was, as on Thursday, that I had to pit stop so many times - 5 to be precise, and I also stopped to take off 2 top layers which of course good news as it shows you that the promised warmer weather has arrived. The first I took off was my headband on the way there whilst I took off my 2 top layers soon after starting on the way back. I saw 1 cyclist on the Tata-Dunaalmás cycle path. I was 12.23 kms for the first hour. I'm not sure if my average speed was any faster than last Saturday which is disappointing given that there was much less off-road, but on the other hand the steep hill was much longer than last week. 4.45,4.50,4.42,4.54,4.44,4.46,4.42,4.41,4.28,4.40, 5.07,6.23,6.22,4.53,4.52,4.41,4.39,4.3,4.28,4.43,12.6 av. I've just looked at last Saturday's run and as I suspected it wasn't much slower, only 4 secs/km, and the climbing wasn't much less, and today it wasn't muddy at all, but today was much easier as I'm in a much better state now than after last week's run. I was supposed to do an organised walk in the Börzsöny but I decided to not put my alram on and only go if I woke in time, which I didn't. I didn't too the last little bit of the cycle path to Dunaalmás as it involves lots of farting aound and instead ran on the main road from Komárom. Changed the lace in one of my shoes to see if it would be better. It was, but not a lot as the "new" lace was basically the same style as the old one but did have the advantage of being longer. As it happens I remembered to tie the other 3 times and the good news was that I never had to stop to do a lace up. The shoe with the new lace stayed a bit tighter.
