I'm sure running today wasn't sensible from the point of view of tomorrow's race but at least this way there's a possiblity, if my left calf bears up, that I1ll get in the 5 runs this week that I wanted to do. Haven't had a 2nd night's good sleep I was well rested plus there is the factor that I tend to run better the 2nd day but I didn't expect to run so well. I would imagine though that that's blown it for tomorrow in terms of running well. What I do have to say though is that my run there which I didn't actually know was relatively fast until I got to the Albatrosz was a sign. I am curious as to whether there was that sign when I last ran under 32 mins - 31.55. What is also good is that I didn't have the help of a wind. Another good thing - only 1 Ps - hallelujah! I employed the same tactic as my previous 2 runs as I had teaching earlier this morning - I had a coffee and didn't rush into running after teaching, this time being exactly an hour after finishing teaching. 4.31 (this fast km I didn't know about), 4.39,4.26 (Wow, I didn't know about either but this would explain why I had the felt that I wanted to slow down), 4.39,4.32,4.37 (yeah, this km I felt I wasn't pushing it), 4.25. Yeah, I was right - when I ran the 31.55 I ran 6.46 going there, even faster than today. Sat evening - just had a look to see when I last ran faster than 31.55 and it was the end of Sept. just before the Vasas maraton where I had the big fall, so getting on for 3 months ago. Just had a look at my OL for the whole year and I've onl run faster than 31.55 in training once this year - it was Sept 28th and it was 31.34 and it was a brief flowering as I also ran 32.07 and 32.00 that week and then bang, the big fall.
