Vivicitta half marathon. I wasn't sure whether to try to break 1h30 or practise for Vienna - I am a bit aware of my knee - a new small injury I seem to be having.

I surprised myself again with a good pace. My start was again from the wrong place - I thought that I wouldn't go too fast, but I can't hold myself back, and nothing is more annoying than having slow people in front of me. So I overtook them, and lost time as they slowed me up.

Pace for the first 13km was good, but up the rakpart into that wind was tough. The pacer for 1h30 got ahead of me for a little time which helped protect me from the wind - I appreciated that :) but he had to go off before long.

I was on target for a time very slightly over 1h30. I got to 18km and had 12mins and 15 seconds left before 1h30. Maybe another day I could manage to speed up and break that time, but not today - I thought also about Vienna, so I didn't try, and the last 3 km was very laza.

Knee is tight again. Icing it now and ibuprofen is being used. I think it should be ok based on last week, but I hope I can get some mroe longish runs in at reasonable pace in this week. 

The taper has started for Vienna....

thanks all. It is nice running when the pressure is off and I mustn't push myself.

Gandi - yes, I am swimming again Friday and next week I will swim once or twice. 

I think I will also try a massage or two - well before the actual race.

well done! :) and rest! work is done for the marathon, now you can only ruin it with pushing the long runs and sustaining your injury... I think.
