despite going to the toilet at the kayak club before starting, had 2 ps but they were in the 1st 2.3 kms and they worked out well as during the 2nd a young runner passed and he was my target to catch up and then he ran with me. As a result there was a dramatic increase in my speed - the 1st 2 kms was 4.52 av. (4.49,4.55) and after 4.26(4.34,4.30,4.24,4.23,16.6 av.) and the 1st 300 metresof the 3rd km was at the old speed whch means my av. was 4.24 from then on.
