My daughter wasn't around to cycle up to Vac with me, so I had to do soemthing else. 

I am a bit worried about my hip, it feels awkward and a bit painful at times after Thursday's tempo run. So I didn't want a tough run. I turned this into a cadence (steps per minute) run.

I have a new gadget - a metronome that beeps according to the setting I want. I put it on 90 (per minute) to start, that was a little too fast for me - my cadence before was near 80, but apparently should be at least 85. When i increased it before I ran my best half marathon times.

It took a while to get into the rhythm, and it was an effort at stages to keep that cadence going, but at the end it felt really good. I should try this more often, as I think it makes a difference - I don't go too fast, but at the end I felt my stride length increase and I was covering the ground at a very nice pace.

Hopefully my hip can take an interval session on Tuesday, it's now a balance of pushing the speed training and avoiding injury before Siofok.
